This organization is built on the will and determination to educate the world about GBS and CIDP. We don't want an information portal that people have to track down in order to learn about these diseases that may be effecting their lives. We want to go out and put the information in front of them so they have a general knowledge of the disease before they ever encounter it. So many people, including myself, never hear the words Guillain Barré or CIDP until it's too late. You're literally laying lifeless, unable to move in a hospital bed when your doctor comes in and says "we've diagnosed you with Guillain Barré Syndrome" or "you've developed a rare condition known as CIDP." You've never heard of it, your family, your friends, nobody knows what this diagnosis is or what it entails until after it has started effecting your life directly. I designed this organization based on my experience as a GBS survivor and my goal is to change the level of education on these diseases. I want to spread the knowledge of GBS and CIDP like a wildfire of awareness by utilizing public events, school presentations, social media, online promotions, and so much more. This truly is the kind of awareness that can save lives and with this awareness, simply knowing about the disease can be a huge game changer in the severity of your case in the event you ever become a victim. As a victim, one problem I discovered is a huge part of the medical staff in our hospitals don't have any knowledge of these diseases. Spreading a simple, basic understanding of these diseases and their characteristics can have a huge positive effect on the entire situation. As an example, when a CNA enters a room not knowing anything about the condition that their patient is battling, it makes it extremely difficult and frustrating to manage for both the patient and the CNA or other members of the staff providing assistance. A full blown paralysis case of GBS can have so many complicated characteristics that make it challenging to care for. Having knowledge of those challenges can make a phenomenal difference in the quality of the patient's care. Please stand up and support the organization and help us make this much needed difference. I personally appreciate everyone that takes the time to learn a little bit about the organization and what it's intentions are. Together we can make the difference, thank you all!
